How to make Chinese Veg Crispy at home 

A spicy and savoury stir fried veg dish to make your dinner special. Learn how to make Veg Crispy at home using Genie Food Products. Veg Crispy is a Chinese street food with an Indian twist. It consists of deep-frying vegetable coated in a flour batter and then stir frying it with some sauces and condiments to give it a Chinese cuisine touch. 

Ingredients: 

For batter: 

Quantity Ingredients 
¼ cup Maida/ Plain Flour/ All-purpose flour 
½ cup Corn Flour 
½ tablespoon  Pepper 
1 tablespoon Genie Food Ginger Garlic Paste 
1 tablespoon Vinegar 
As required salt 
As required Water 

Vegetables required for Veg Crispy: 

Quantity Ingredients 
1 cup Red & Green Capsicum 
3-4 Pieces Baby Corns 
2 pieces Button mushroom 
10 florets Cauliflower 

Other ingredients: 

Quantity Ingredient 
500 ml Oil for deep frying 
2 tablespoons Oil 
2 cloves Garlic 
Green Chilli (slit) 
4 tablespoons Spring onion 
1 tablespoon Chilli sauce 
2 tablespoons Tomato sauce 
1 tablespoon  Soy Sauce 
As required Salt 

Method to make Veg Crispy at home: 

  1. Firstly, take a bowl and add ¼ cup Maida, ½ cup corn flour, ½ teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon Genie Food Ginger-Garlic Paste, 1 teaspoon vinegar, and salt to taste. 
  1. Add enough water to make a flowing consistency batter and mix it well. 
  1. Now add the chopped capsicums, baby corns, button mushrooms and cauliflower in the batter. 
  1. Toss all the vegetables gently in the batter so the batter coats them properly. 
  1. Now take a pan, add some oil and let it boil. 
  1. Once the oil is hot for deep fry, gently fry all the vegetables in the oil. 
  1. Toss the vegetables in oil occasionally for them to fry properly and give a crispy texture. 
  1. Take the vegetables on a plate once they’re fried. 
  1. Now take a sauce pan and add 1 teaspoon of oil on it. 
  1. Let it warm and add Genie Food Garlic paste, green chillies and chopped spring onions on the pan.  
  1. Sauté the mix on high flame for a minute and then add 1 tbsp chilli sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce and 1 tbsp soy sauce. 
  1. Add salt in the stir fry as required. 
  1. Mix it well on a high flame till everything is mixed well. 
  1. Now add the fried vegetables on the pan and mix them well. 
  1. Additionally add some chopped spring onions once they are mixed well. 
  1. Finally serve this delicious and savoury veg stir fry with some sauce or with fried rice.
