How to make Chili Potato at home using Genie Food Groups

Chilli Potato

Ingredients to make Chili Potato: 

For Boiling:

3-4 Cups / As required Water 
1 Tbsp Salt 
2 pieces Potato wedges 

For Crispy Aloo:

¼ Tbsp Genie Food Turmeric Powder 
½ Tbsp Chili Powder 
¼ Tbsp Salt 
2 Tbsp Maida 
2 Tbsp Corn flour 
½ Cup / As required Water (For batter) 
2 Cups/ As required Oil (for frying) 

For Sauce: 

Quantity: Ingredients: 
2 Tbsp Oil 
2 TbspGenie Food Garlic Paste
1 Tbsp Genie Food Ginger Paste 
2 Tbsp Chopped Spring Onions 
½ Piece Onion 
½ Piece Chopped Capsicum 
2 Tbsp Tomato Sauce 
2 Tbsp Vinegar 
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce 
¼ Tbsp Chilli Powder 
¼ Tbsp Salt 
¼ Tbsp Pepper Powder 
1 Tbsp Corn Flour 
½ Cup Water 
2 Tbsp  Chopped Spring Onion 

Method to make Chili Potato with Genie Food Group: 

  1. In a large vessel, add 2-3 potatoes cut into wedges. 
  1. Fill the pot with adequate water to submerge the potatoes. 
  1. Then, add 1 Tbsp salt. Let the potatoes boil for 2 minutes. 
  1. Once potatoes boil, check if they’re soft by poking them with a knife or fork. Soft potatoes will be easy to cut. 
  1. Drain off all the water from the potatoes and let them cool for some time. 
  1. Now, in a bowl, add these potato wedges and 1/4 Tbsp Turmeric Powder, 1/2 Tbsp chilli powder, & 1/4 Tbsp salt. 
  1. Mix everything in the bowl to combine the spices well with the potatoes. 
  1. Moreover, add 2 Tbsp maida, 2 Tbsp corn flour, & 2 Tbsp water. 
  1. Mix everything well to form a smooth batter. Make sure to remove the lumps from the paste to avoid a difference in taste. 
  1. Coat the potatoes evenly with batter. 
  1. Now, take a large kadhai and add some oil to it. Let the oil boil on a high flame. 
  1. Once the oil boils, add these potato wedges to the oil. Fry them on a medium flame.  Stir them occasionally and fry till they are golden brown. 
  1. Drain them on a plate covered with tissue. Tissue removes the excess oil. 
  1. Later, Take a large wok or kadhai, and add 2 Tbsp oil.  
  1. Add 2 Tbsp Genie Food Garlic Paste, 1 Tbsp Genie Food Ginger Paste, and 2 Tbsp chopped spring onions to the wok. 
  1. Then, add 1/2 Onion and 1/2 Capsicum and stir fry it for a few minutes. 
  1. Now, add 2 Tbsp tomato sauce, 2 Tbsp vinegar, & 2 Tbsp soy sauce. 
  1. Then, add 1/4 Chilli powder, 1/4 salt, & 1/4 pepper powder. 
  1. Stir fry everything on a high flame and mix the sauces well. 
  1. Next, make a corn flour slurry by mixing 1 Tbsp corn flour in 1/4 water. 
  1. Add this slurry to the wok and mix it till it slightly thickens. 
  1. Then, add the fried potato wedges to the wok and toss them gently. 
  1. Check that the sauce coats the potatoes, and add sesame seeds for garnish.
