Manchurian is a favourite Indo-Chinese fast food found in India. Made with some chopped vegetables, some oriental sauces and Manchurian balls, this fast-food dish is a must for some quick snack! The Manchurian balls are made from a mix of cornflour and finely chopped vegetables. These vegetable Manchurian balls are healthy and tasty for all age groups. Since this dish is a fast food dish, we don’t really get health benefits from it when taken as a fast food. But if made at home, this savoury meal can be even more healthy and delicious.

Ingredients for making Vegetable Manchurian Roll:
For the Vegetable Balls:

¼ Cup | Grated Carrot |
¼ Cup | Finely chopped spring onions |

2 Tbsp | Genie Food Garlic Paste |
1 Tbsp | Finely chopped green chillies |
1-2 Tbsp (as required) | Salt |
100-300 ml (for deep frying) | Vegetable Oil |
For the Manchurian Sauce:

2 Tbsp | Genie Food Ginger Paste |
2 Tbsp | Finely chopped green chillies |
1 Tbsp | Finely chopped green chillies |
1-2 Tbsp (as required) | Salt |
2 Tbsp | Dark soy sauce |
Other Ingredients:

1 Cup | Stir-fried rice |
1 Cup | Shredded Cabbage |
1 Cup | Finely chopped spring onion greens |
6 Tbsp | Schezwan Sauce |
2 Tbsp | Sweet & Sour Sauce |
Method to make Vegetable Manchurian Roll:
For making Vegetable Manchurian Balls:
- Take a large bowl and add 2 Cups finely chopped cabbage, ¼ cup onion, ¼ cup spring onion.
- Then add ¼ cup cornflour, 2 Tbsp Genie Food Garlic Paste and 1 Tbsp finely chopped green chillies.
- Combine everything nicely to form a dough. Divide the mixture into equal portions and make small balls.
- Take a deep pan and add some oil in it. Let the oil heat.
- Once the oil is hot, fry the vegetable balls on a medium flame. Once they turn golden brown, drain them and place in a dish. Remove the excess oil with tissue paper, newspaper or absorbent paper placed on the plate.
For making Manchurian Sauce:
- Take a large frying pan and heat some oil in it.
- Add 1 Tbsp Genie Food Garlic Paste, 2 Tbsp finely chopped green chillies and 2 Tbsp Genie Food Ginger Paste to it. Stir-fry everything on a high flame for a few seconds.
- Then add ½ cup water, 2 Tbsp of dark soy sauce, 2-3 Tbsp of cornflour, 1 some sugar and salt as required. Stir well and simmer the mix for few minutes till it becomes thick. Keep stirring the mix during the process.
- Once you notice the sauce getting thick, keep it aside.
How to make Vegetable Manchurian Roll:
- When you’re starting to make vegetable roll, toss the vegetable balls in a frying pan and let them turn golden brown.
- Take a roti and place it flat on a surface. Arrange some stir fried rice in a row in the centre of the roti.
- Arrange some vegetable balls and some shredded cabbage and green onion over it.
- Finally spread 1 ½ Tbsp of Genie Food Schezwan Sauce and ½ Tbsp of Sweet and Sour sauce and roll the roti with the filling tightly.
- Repeat the above process with the remaining ingredients to make few more rolls.
- Cover the bottom of the roll with foil or tissue paper and your Vegetable Manchurian roll are ready to serve.
Tips for making Vegetable Manchurian Rolls:
- Make sure to prepare the rolls immediately after the vegetable balls have been boiled along with manchurian sauce. This prevents the sauce from drying up & thickening too much.
